This is where it all began. At the mountains of the Galilee, near the beautiful growing city of Carmiel, where mixed population of natives and new immigrants together with the local villages nearby, have gathered to build, what would be known, as one of the world successful textile manufacturers.
A sewing plant for men’s underwear, one of many to come, was the cornerstone of making this dream of Dov Lautman, Eliezer Peleg and friends, a reality.
They immediately set about opening the first sewing plants, in the North of Israel, hiring hundreds of workers and acquiring facilities for spinning, dyeing and knitting – these were quickly expanded, upgraded, relocated and filled with state-of-the-art equipment.
Focused on success, Lautman and Peleg waste no time building the company’s core competencies, setting its standards for quality and establishing an agenda for the worldwide distribution of their products.
They begin cultivating a relationship with UK retail giant Marks & Spencer – a relationship that grows into two decades of collaborative partnership and will prove to be among Delta’s more strategic alliances. Over time M&S are to become Delta’s largest customer base.
It’s only been three years since Delta’s establishment and already sale volumes reach $14.5 million.

Expanding to London and founding an affiliate company to promote exports to the UK as well as penetrating the French market by contracting Pierre Cardin to manufacture and distribute branded garments to the European market. Further exciting developments include the establishment of the first local foothold in the US and the opening of the new sock plant in Karmiel, Israel.
Delta begins to address the leisurewear market in Scotland by opening a leisurewear factory.
Delta becomes a publicly traded company on the Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange!!!
Cottyon Lycra, fabrics are developed and considered a breakthrough in ladies intimates, they become an overnight success and a central element of ladies intimate apparel.
The renowned American brand, Sara Lee, acquires 25% of Delta’s shares.
Delta expands its business scope, putting emphasis on developing intimate apparel and leisurewear, in Israel.
By the end of the decade sale volumes reach $117 million.
Delta actively strengthens its core manufacturing capabilities and capacity, expanding into new territories and shifting to low cost labor countries. First “Babygro Scotland” is acquired in 1993.
Following the peace accord with Egypt and Jordan, Delta is the first Israeli company to establish sewing plants in these countries in 1995.
Manufacturing activities in Jordan take off in 1996 through a joint venture with CIG. At the same time, production is sourced in Turkey and Eastern Europe, and “Sabrigum” an Israel based elastic-tape factory is also acquired.

This leads to a threefold increase in production over the coming two years.
The Company is now ready to launch its IPO on NADSAQ. It’s the end of the 90’s and Delta is achieving sales volume of $355 Million.

As such they acquire Auburn Hosiery Mills in 2003, Wilson hosiery license for the US and Europe, TAGA and Yodfat licenses in Israel and Burlen Corporation in 2004. These acquisitions boost Delta Galil’s position in Ladies Intimate Apparel in the US mass market. Finally, they continue to outsource in the Middle and Far East, inaugurating a plant in China and expanding production in Egypt.

The year begins with a sock manufacturing plant being established in Bulgaria, then in July 2007 founder Dov Lautman, after receiving the highest award “The Israel Prize” in April that year for his life achievements, announces his decision to sell the company’s controlling shares to GMM Capital LCC (owned by Mr. Isaac Dabah) due to having ALS. Sale volumes have grown to an impressive $559 million.
The Greener Delta plan is launched together with the first GRI report and the new Ecolife brand is created. It is this same year that Delta exits from the NASDAQ, registered as OTCQX.
Nearly Nude is known for its innovative technology and is engineered to slim, smooth and compress – making it the ultimate shaping underwear.
The KN Karen Neuburger brand is a welcomed addition to Delta’s sleepwear range, and global growth expectations are high.
In a shift to become more branded Delta begins by acquiring premier German underwear brand Schiesser AG, and taking a huge step towards European market growth. Delta Galil also acquires US brand Littlemissmatched – a fun, innovative ’ girly lifestyle brand, strengthening and broadening their brand portfolio even further. Delta Galil’s Israeli brand “Delta” already with a total of 150 retail multi-category stores spread throughout the country signs Ninet Taib (Israel’s first American Idol) as its new representative.

In October Delta signs a 5 year global licensing agreement with Lacoste to develop a new line, including the design, production and distribution of Lacoste’s men’s underwear, sleep wear and loungewear collection. This is a major initiative for Delta’s strategy for expanding the Company’s brand’s operations, increasing its portfolio of licenses and strengthening the Company’s presence in the global market.

2015 seems to be another milestone year for Delta Galil.
Delta acquires P.J.Salvage, the California based pajamas and loungewear brand. P.J.Salvage is known for using quality, luxurious fabrics and products designed for celebratory fit, chic and style.
In Israel, Delta Galil signs an exclusive license agreement with PUMA.
Delta Galil will be in charge of all marketing, distribution and retail activities of PUMA in Israel, including two new concept stores and developing a new online shop.
In a festive ceremony we celebrated the official opening of our newest factory in Vietnam.
