Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the inventory, oversee one direct report.
This is a full time position at our Williamsport, PA offices
Duties and Responsibilities:
Compute and maintain the cost elements in Movex used to determine applied freight, duty, overhead and commission. Familiar with HTS codes.
During the month and at month end, check to see if commission rates are being calculated correctly for suppliers using the buying office to process orders with factories. On the first day of close provide the amounts to the staff accountant for intercompany processing.
Monitor purchase orders on a daily basis to ensure costing codes are used properly and make corrections as needed.
Develop inventory analysis reports to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the inventory and analyze variances.
Reconcile monthly and daily inventories. Sign off on cycle counts.
Perform periodic freight analysis.
Actualize freight for shipments not received but actual freight invoices are available by entering the information into Movex.
Complete freight, duty and overhead analysis monthly (Variance Analysis). Investigate significant variances in what has been applied versus actual expenses and make corrections.
Prepare monthly journal entries as required.
At month end, reconcile inventory balances to the general ledger and prepare analysis.
At month end complete actual headcount and payroll dollars versus the budget. Provide explanations for variances greater than 6%. Submit report timely to Israel.
Maintain the Customs Audit File for invoices and debit notes that hit unabsorbed production for additional production costs incurred outside the US that are not included in the FOB price on the PO. Provide a quarterly report to Logistics.
Requirements and Qualifications
5 years inventory cost experience.
Experience with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
